The project is a specialist knowledge and innovation hub focussed on research and development for the live events industry undertaken as a partnership between Backstage Academy and Wakefield Council. Enjoy Design were initially appointed to develop Stage 0-4 design proposals working closely with Production Park and a wider body of stakeholders. The project was part publicly funded and includes a suite of new teaching and workshop spaces off a central circulation spine. The project also includes a large 15,500 sqft studio space to the rear. Following a successful tender exercise, Triton Construction were appointed to construct the scheme with Enjoy Design novated to deliver the scheme on site. The building was completed in Autumn 2022 and achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.
