This new build school for 1200 pupils with associated staff and community facilities celebrates Catholicism taking inspiration from the church. A 3 storey central atrium draws parallels with the knave, allowing 3 learning ‘wings’ to branch out like the aisles, offering different faculties and learning environments. The atrium serves as the primary hub of activity for learning, socializing, dining or surfing the web. The team cleverly omitted the need for phasing and disruption by configuring the new building on the existing playing fields allowing the school to remain operational during construction. A natural palette of browns, green and whites were chosen allowing the building to integrate into its green woodland surroundings. This project was designed and delivered by an Enjoy Director whilst previously employed at Aedas Architects Ltd.
"Ryan facilitated all of the curriculum subjects within a very restrained site and building footprint without compromising the integrity of an excellent design solution."
